WELCOME TO COBBLESTONE BORZOI!

Our experience with Borzoi began in 1970, when traveling to dog shows with my husband's parents, both AKC Licensed Handlers for all breeds, I had the great good fortune to meet Bruna Henry and her magnificent Borzoi, CH. Vronsky of Volga.  I was never the same and couldn't imagine my life without one of these noble creatures!  The result was a memorable gift from my sweet husband of a cream and white Borzoi puppy bitch for Christmas!

Her career began at 10 months with a Major win, but shortly after she suffered a  serious leg injury, thus ending her show days, but she remained our soul mate and confidante, passing away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 13 1/2.  I vowed to have another Borzoi one day, but our horse training business became so successful that it had to be delayed until the Spring of 2009.

With the help of several experienced breeders and mentors, our quest to begin again in Borzoi resulted in the purchase of some young hopefuls that have stolen our hearts and home.

Dale and I wish to express our deep gratitude to our mentors, Amy Sorbie (Kyrov), Karen Wilkin (Blackmoor), Cricket Murray (Kansai), Monica Barry (Laureate), and Jan Leikam (Adrienne).  These dedicated breeders of Champion Borzoi, both in the conformation ring and the coursing field, continue to be an integral part of our life with Borzoi.

To Pamela Buffington of Horse And Hound Borzoi, breeder of our young, tail-wagging male "Horse And Hound Dreamin' O' Dublin", and Patty Hull Anderson of Zooropa Borzoi,  and Monica Barry of Laureate Borzoi, co-breeders of our young lady-like but impish bitch, "Zooropa Laureate Distant Rain", our heartfelt thanks for allowing them to come and live with us, enriching our lives beyond our expectations!

To Karen Wilkin and Christina Hart of Blackmoor Borzoi, we can not thank you enough for the amazing opportunity to add to the Cobblestone Family a gorgeous young red sable and white bitch, "Blackmoor Tzirina Juicy Couture" who brings with her new dimensions to our budding program!

We hope you enjoy yourselves as you follow the development of these special young dogs on the next few pages. . . .  We hope to expand the site in the near future, so check back often for updates and please feel free to contact us with your comments or questions.

We have also added three pages showing a bit of what we do when we're not stealing time to play with the Borzoi.  Hope you enjoy seeing some of the beautiful Morgan horses we are privileged to train and show.

"Thank You" to those who have contributed photos, both professional and amateur, as well as information on the pedigrees of the dogs!

And finally, "Thank You" for sharing our interest and our love of the Borzoi breed in all of its many facets and magnificent splendor.
